Where Faith & Early Learning Grow Together

Annunciation Orthodox Christian Academy is a nurturing, faith-centered preschool where children are guided with intention, love, and purpose during their most formative years.

We believe childhood should be protected, celebrated, and thoughtfully developed. Through a balance of structured learning, creative exploration, and Orthodox Christian formation, we help children grow not only academically, but spiritually, socially, and emotionally.

At AOCA, your child is known, valued, and prepared for what comes next.

A School Rooted in Faith, Built on Purpose

AOCA is more than a preschool, it is a ministry dedicated to supporting families and nurturing children in a Christ-centered environment.

Every part of our program is designed with intention: to create a space where children feel safe, confident, and inspired to learn.

We partner closely with families to build a strong foundation that carries far beyond the classroom.

Leadership You Can Trust

AOCA is guided by experienced, dedicated leaders who bring both professional expertise and personal investment to our school community.

Director - Voula Koulouris

With over 22 years of experience in early childhood education, Voula holds state preschool certification, Director Accreditation, and a K–12 degree, along with specialized training in early literacy. She is a mother of three and an active parish member, bringing both educational excellence and deep faith to AOCA’s leadership.

Director Of Administration - Tina Faughnan

Tina brings more than 12 years of operational leadership experience, along with hands-on early childhood classroom work. As a mother of five (soon to be six) and parish member, she supports AOCA families through enrollment, communication, and daily operations—ensuring systems run smoothly so teachers and children can thrive.

An Intentional Approach to Early Childhood

AOCA’s curriculum blends structured early learning with Orthodox Christian formation and
joyful exploration.

Children engage in:

  • Early literacy development using Heggerty phonics
  • Science and social studies through Scholastic resources
  • Orthodox Christian life, including daily prayer, feast days, and exposure to the liturgical calendar
  • Greek cultural enrichment
  • Developmentally appropriate rotations, including learning centers, music and movement, art, outdoor play, and hands-on activities

We conduct four formal assessments each year, with consistent parent communication built into our model to support transparency and partnership.

We prioritize both structure and joy, because children learn best when they feel secure, engaged, and excited.

The "Bee the Bee" Approach

Inspired by the idea that children learn through what they see and experience, our approach encourages kindness, curiosity, and intentional growth.

Rather than simply teaching concepts, we model them, helping children develop strong character, empathy, and a love for learning through everyday moments.

Program Structure & Schedule

AOCA operates as a half-day program from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., designed to support young learners while preserving the rhythm of childhood, with optional extensions:

  • Early Bird: 8:00–9:00 a.m.
  • Lunch Bunch: 12:00–1:00 p.m.

Families may choose these various scheduling options:

  • 2 days per week
  • 3 days per week
  • 5 days per week

For Pre-K students, five days per week is recommended to support kindergarten readiness.

Small Class Sizes, Meaningful Attention

For our first year, AOCA will offer two classrooms pending enrollment and ages:

  • Pre-K: Ages 3–5 must be potty trained

Our low student-to-teacher ratios ensure that each child receives individualized attention, care, and support during critical developmental stages.

Adult-to-child ratios:

  • Toddlers 1.5–3 years: 2 adults per 5–10 children
  • Preschool/Pre-K 3–5 years: 2 adults per 10–20 children
